All About Ms. Grier
Hello!
I am Jeanette Grier and I'm so excited to be be a part of Atlanta Public Schools and the Morningside family as your child's kindergarten teacher. I am a veteran teacher of over 20 years, endorsed in both ESOL, and Gifted instruction. I have taught kindergarten, first grade as well as English language learners and gifted scholars in grades k-5. I am looking forward to applying different learning strategies to help support and enrich the minds of your young learners. I believe in using positive reinforcement and affirmations to bring out the best in others. My commitment to both you and your young scholar is to always listen and communicate expectations, progress, and information in a timely manner.

Originally from Minnesota I moved to Georgia to attend college at Clark Atlanta University where I majored in Early Childhood Education. Of course as an educator, I believe the love of learning never stops so I also have a M.S in reading and literacy as well as a Ed.S in educational studies. Just like you parents, I am most proud of my son, Brandon. Watching as he continues to learn and grow for over 26 years makes me smile each day. Just like my son my goal is for your child to advocate for themselves and strive to be the best they can be. The other half of my heart belongs to our family dog Simba. When I'm not teaching or cuddling with Simba, I enjoy traveling, reading, and coming up with creative designs on my computer.
I look forward to a wonderful year of learning and growing with our "Kind Kinders"!
