All About Ms. Grier
Hello!
I am Jeanette Grier and I'm so excited to be be a part of Atlanta Public Schools and the Morningside family as your child's kindergarten teacher. I am a veteran teacher of over 20 years, endorsed in both ESOL, and Gifted instruction. I have taught kindergarten, first grade as well as English language learners and gifted scholars in grades k-5. I am looking forward to applying different learning strategies to help support and enrich the minds of your young learners. I believe in using positive reinforcement and affirmations to bring out the best in others. My commitment to both you and your young scholar is to always listen and communicate expectations, progress, and information in a timely manner.
This is me! When I was in Kindergarten I loved to wear my mouse costume.
My son Brandon and I are from Minnesota.
I love going outside on sunny days!
My son went to college at the University of Notre Dame.
I love dress up days!
I was so proud of Brandon when he graduated in 2021!
Originally from Minnesota I moved to Georgia to attend college at Clark Atlanta University where I majored in Early Childhood Education. I believe the love of learning never stops and I went on to study at Walden University to master in the area of Reading and Literacy. Currently I am pursuing a specialist degree from Augusta University. Just like you parents, I am most proud of my son, Brandon! Not only is he a kind human but he was self motivated to seek a full scholarship and graduate from Notre Dame with a degree in Economics. Just like my son my goal is for your child to advocate for themselves and strive to be the best they can be. In addition to my son the newest addition to my heart is our family dog Simba. When I'm not teaching or cuddling with Simba, I enjoy traveling, reading, and coming up with creative designs on my computer.
I look forward to a wonderful year of learning and growing with our "Kind Kinders"!
